Book Written by one Author:

Author’s last name, first name. Title of book. City of publication: Name of publisher, copyright
date.

Example:

Paterson, Katherine. The Great Gilly Hopkins. New York: Harper Trophy, 1987.

Book Written by Two or More Authors:

First author’s last name, first name and second author’s name. Title of book. City of publication:
Name of publisher, copyright date.

Example:

Jakobson, Roman and Linda Waugh. The Sound Shape of Language. Bloomington: Indiana UP,
1979.

Book with no Author or Anonymous:

Title. City of publication: Name of publisher, copyright date.

**NOTE: Do not use "Anonymous" or "Anon", simply leave off the author and alphabetize according to the title.**

Example:

Go Ask Alice. Englewood Cliffs: Prentice Hall, 1971.

Book with an Editor:

Editor’s last name, first name, ed. Title of book. City of publication: Name of publisher,
copyright date.

Example:

Martignoni, Margaret, ed. The Illustrated Treasury of Children’s Literature. New York:

Reference Book (i.e. Encyclopedia or Dictionary):

Personal Interview (one which you conducted yourself):

Last Name of person interviewed, first name. Personal interview. Date.

Example:

Last name of person interviewed, first name. Name of interviewer. Name of television show.
Network. Station call numbers, City. Date.

Example:
