Science The 4th grade studies geology using a hands-on program where students learn how to identify rocks and minerals using a scientific approach. During this unit, the children learn about their individual birthstones. Other science units include Electricity and the Human Body.
Social Studies Students begin the school year with a study of Explorers, moving on to Colonial Life and the American Revolution. The year typically ends with a unit on Westward Expansion.
Columbia Writing Workshop Units include memoirs and historical fiction. |
