We are committed to helping students achieve their personal best. Our mission is to help students achieve the goals of self-understanding, self-awareness, and awareness of one’s potential. The aim of the guidance curriculum is to promote and enhance the learning process and enable all students to achieve success in school and to develop into contributing members of society. I hope all students will feel safe and comfortable in coming to us with any academic, personal, or social concerns.
What Does a Guidance Counselor Do?
- Assists students with social, academic, and emotional issues.
- Helps to create a positive school environment where students can thrive.
- Provides a caring atmosphere for students where they can express their concerns.
- Assists students with concerns and issues that are related to the natural process of “growing up.”
- Serves as a liaison between home and school.
- Consults with other school professionals such as teachers, school psychologists, administrators, and the community, as well as other professionals designated by parents and/or the school district.
- Helps students attain the organizational and study skills necessary for lifelong success.
